Kallirroe Fragkou / CEO - Pharmacologist

Kallirroe Fragkou / CEO - Pharmacologist

Her comprehensive coursework in the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Science provided her with invaluable laboratory research skills, leading to her employment as a Research Assistant in the Immunology Department at the University of Sussex, Brighton, in 2004. Her professional journey also includes a role as a medical sales representative, specializing in Remynil and Topamac, for JANSSEN-CILAG, a multinational pharmaceutical company with a subsidiary in Greece.

Pharmacology is the science that studies the effects of drugs on the human body. Unlike the pharmacist, who manages and dispenses medications, the pharmacologist focuses on the scientific understanding of pharmaceutical substances—their effectiveness, side effects, and appropriate use according to each patient’s individual profile.

A pharmacologist specializes in:

  • Evaluating how drugs act in the body and how the body metabolizes them (pharmacokinetics & pharmacodynamics)
  • Identifying potential drug interactions
  • Providing guidance to physicians and patients for safer and more effective treatment plans
  • Participating in research for the development of new therapies
  • Tailoring medication regimens based on age, gender, genetics, and overall health status

Pharmacology plays a vital role in modern medicine, as drug therapy is a critical component of healthcare. Yet, each organism is unique. The pharmacologist’s specialized knowledge ensures that every treatment is:

  • Safe, by minimizing side effects and avoiding harmful drug interactions
  • Personalized, based on the specific needs of each individual
  • Effective, achieving the best possible therapeutic outcome

At Marieva, pharmacological expertise is integrated into clinical practice with responsibility, precision, and scientific integrity—because proper medication use is not just a matter of dosage; it’s a matter of science and trust. Mrs. Fragkou and Mrs. Zika work closely together on medication plans, tailoring each approach to the individual needs of every client, drawing on their extensive experience and long-standing collaboration.

However, her career in pharmacology had to be put on hold due to a heart-wrenching experience involving her daughter’s health. Her daughter, Marieva, was diagnosed with malignancy at just one year old and embarked on a courageous battle for her life. Over the course of five years, Kalliroe Fragkou confronted her own struggles with depression and anxiety disorders. Discovering the inner strength to overcome these challenging phases became a transformative experience, equipping her with newfound resilience.

Kallirroe Fragkou, characterized by her unwavering determination, inherent compassion, and a bright spirit, was inspired to channel her life experiences into helping others grappling with addictive behaviors and mental health issues. This inspiration led to the creation of Marieva’s Healthcare Center. Today, Mrs. Fragkou possesses over five years of profound expertise in providing one-on-one treatments to those in need.
